Day 6: In this lesson, students will review three ways to write a compound sentence and be provided examples of each. Students will then take notes on four conjunctive adverbs (i.e. thereafter; incidentally; namely; hence). Students will then be given three opportunities to practice writing compound sentences supported by picture prompts. In conclusion, students will practice using coordinating conjunctions to create compound sentences given independent clauses. They will be asked to give their rationale for selecting a coordinating conjunction and how it affects meaning.
