The aim of this activity is for the learner:
• To demonstrate understanding that the whole item or number can be split into parts, that the whole thing is 100% and to understand an object does not have to physically be in 100 parts in order for a part of it to be expressed as a Percentage
• To be able to demonstrate understanding of the terminology, Integer, tenths, hundredths, Fraction, Percentage and so forth
• To show understanding that it’s easier for the mind to grasp 8% rather than 0.08 or 2/25
• To demonstrate switching between Fractions and Percentages
e.g. 1/5 = 2/10 = 20% = 0.20
This activity consists of step by step methodology, a practice worksheet and an answer sheet.
