You'll teach 13 different forms of poetry and get students reading and writing lots of poetry during the unit. This independent poetry project encourages all learning styles and is motivating for all students. Even your most reluctant learners will experience success! Students could work independently during your writer’s workshop or literacy center or you could teach the unit one poetry form at a time. Students are motivated to write poems because they earn more points for writing more poems.
