This package consists of all six of the puzzles I've written that involve Charles Dickens. Four of the puzzles are centered about his A Christmas Carol, another is a brief "arithmetical biography", and the other a blended math/literature puzzle that introduces the "doer" to 14 of Dickens' aptly named characters. A Christmas Carol is a foundation for four of the puzzles. Three of the puzzles might work nicely before reading the book - a "math essay" wherein the doer calculates some middle school math expressions to find various dates and numbers to complete a "brief bio" of Dickens (the problems are VERY possible and the intent is to NOT use a calculator, instructions are given for a short cut method), a character search, and a vocabulary matching puzzle using 14 of the words that Dickens used in the novelette. And three of the puzzles might be used as part of a review after having read/discussed the book - a fake-crossword, a regular crossword, and the introduction to Dickens' aptly named characters mentioned.. My fake-crossword has 20 questions/clues that are on theme (A Christmas Carol) and my "real" crossword has 11 clues that are on theme. I believe that the package will add a nice little beginning and final touch (or review) to Dickens' classic Christmas-themed work.
