Teachers and parents use these word slides to help students learn to read many words quickly!
On word slides, words are grouped by word families. Word families are letter patterns at the end of words such at “et.” Examples of words in this word family are: jet, get, pet.
Once students see that the ending of the words in word families look and sound alike, it is easy for them to change only the beginning letter/sound to read many new words.
These word slides correspond with the word families used in Books 1-68 in the Word Family Readers program.
They are also great for learning and reinforcing the vowel sounds that are being taught in any reading program!
