Feel free to break out the color pencils with this one! Lesson is designed to be taught B.A., Before the Algorithm. Students will learn to draw and apply the concept of bar models to divide fractions. This will also help with fine motor skills.

Exit Ticket (Introduce this before the lesson and let the students keep it on their desk allowing learners to see what they are expected to learn at the end of the lesson
Homework
Answer Key - My keys are (almost) always handwritten, I make the effort to scan them in as there is value to see how solutions are thought out.

Easily adaptable for small/guided groups. You can also practice folding strips of papers to mimic bars. Students with more advanced motor skills can practice drawing bars using rulers. Eventually, the goal is for students to draw the models free-form, so practice practice practice!
