PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Over the past couple of years, I have introduced the Coordinate plane in pieces to my students. I first start with Quadrant 1 and extend the x axis towards the negative numbers to explore Quadrant 2. Which of course then gets students to ask.... will the vertical number line go down toward the negatives? Yes! Yes it will.

This picture allows students to practice going left and right on the x axis, and going down the y axis instead of going up and down.

I have found that having students practice the coordinate plane in chunks has helped students to better understand the positioning of ordered pairs in a coordinate plane.
