Would you like an exciting and engaging way to help your students build their fluency with Ratios? This is the perfect game for review of Ratios with word problems! Your students will work independently or collaboratively to solve Ratio problems to drive the mathematician "Bonkers".
To play this game students choose a number from the opening slide. This number is linked to a slide with a ratio problem. A correct answer wins points for that student or that team. Watch out though because there are two numbers linked to slides where students lose their turn or lose points. After students have a solution, you can advance the slide to show the correct method and answer. In the bottom right corner of the answer slide, there is a link that returns the players to the opening slide. Play proceeds with the next team.
One of the reasons why I love this game is because my students can "keep, change, flip" all day long, but they sometimes struggle to understand the procedure when the values are part of a word problem. This game gives my students the opportunity to practice Ratio concepts and use ratio reasoning to solve problems in a low-stress game format.
This game specifically targets Common Core Math standard 6.RP.3A. Students using this game build fluency in Ratios and Proportional Relationships. Understanding ratio concepts and use ratio reasoning to solve problems
