Have students to work on the first page of Percent Personality
Do an example with your students. Have them realize that the sum of their percents should be 100%, which would represent 100% of them.
***Common mistake***: Students will treat each color or interest as one whole and will say something like 100% for liking their phone, and 80% like music. In order to help them understand what it means by “100% of me”, have them put 0% in for the ones that don’t apply to them. Then have them rank the remaining colors/interests from what applies to them the most to least.
*Give students who have a hard time with number sense a calculator to check their work. Check their first page before they color.
*This is an individual assignment. But having the students socialize, you’ll see that students will start to have conversations about percents which is AWESOME!
