I love teaching ELA to my sixth graders, but often it is hard to find a quick assessment to see if they understand one particular standard. Hence, my ELA exit slip ticket packet. This packet includes 35 different exit tickets that are standards based. Each exit slip includes one story, poem, or fable that has 2-5 questions based on one standard. This allows the teacher to see if students have mastered one skill, and track their progress on that one standard/skill using the exit slip tracking chart.
The ELA Literature Exit Slip Ticket Pack includes the following:
-35 different literature exit ticks
-At least 5 exit tickets for each standard, with 2-5 questions per exit ticket
-Answer Key for each exit slip ticket
-There are 2 of the same exit tickets per page
-Students rate their level of understanding
-RL.6.1, RL.6.2, RL.6.3, RL.6.4, RL.6.5, and RL.6.6
Focuses on the following standards:
Key Ideas and Detail Standards:
RL.6.1 - Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
RL.6.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.
RL.6.3 Describe how a particular story's or drama's plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.
Craft and Structure Standards:
RL.6.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the impact of a specific word choice on meaning and tone.
RL.6.5 Analyze how a particular sentence, chapter, scene, or stanza fits into the overall structure of a text and contributes to the development of the theme, setting, or plot.
RL.6.6 Explain how an author develops the point of view of the narrator or speaker in a text.
