These end of year memory book activities will help your students celebrate all of their fun times in 6th grade! This book makes a great end of year project for students, mingling all those wonderful memories so that each child appreciates the experience, classmates, and his or her important role in your class.
W.I.M.P.Y. - A (W)onderful, (I)nteresting (M)ix of (P)retty Cool (Y)oungsters who shared their 6th grade journey together!
Here’s how it works:
1. Time completion will depend on how many students you have in your class. For instance, if you have 22 students, set aside the last 22 days (assuming your class is completing one journal per day). Each journal should take from 30-40 minutes to create.
2. You may want to draw a name each day. The first 5 pages are to be completed by the owner of the diary. The rest of the 11 pages are to be distributed among the class or you may want your students to choose a page to dedicate. Duplicate copies of the class sheets if necessary.
3. Once completed, all the pages are put together in a class diary for the owner of the diary. The pages will be more secure if you bind them (on a paper binding machine, if your school has one) them instead of stapling them.
Your students are sure to enjoy reading and learning about why they are so important to each other and will be glad to END their journey in your class by SHARING their journey in your class.
