Here at the Bryar Patch, I believe an explanation is just as important as the solution to a math problem. If a person can explain how to do a problem or why they do a problem a certain method, I believe they grasp the concept. In the resource, the students can answer questions and prompts from different units from their 6th grade curriculum. There are ten different prompts where they are asked to respond and explain their answers. Sample explanations and solutions to the problems are also provided. The sample explanations may be more detailed than what a 6th grader will produce, but they still are all encompassing of ideas they may want to include in such problems.
