*STAAR Test Prep* This document includes two STAAR formatted assessments. Standards covered are Ratios, Rates, and Proportional Reasoning. A Teacher Answer Key Blueprint and a Student Answer Document are also included. These assessments could be used as a Pre/Post Test, Unit Quizzes, Review, and STAAR Test Practice!
*THIS RESOURCE IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN MY STAAR TEST PRACTICE BUNDLE.
The Bundle includes 20 STAAR Assessments covering all standards for 6th grade math!
♥ Two Assessments -10-questions each- STAAR formatted
♥ A list of TEKS Standards
♥ A Testing Answer Key Blueprint which codes items by Readiness and Supporting Standards.
♥ A Student Answer Document/Bubble Sheet
It is difficult to find resources that meet the level of rigor required by STAAR. These questions are aligned with the NEW TEKS and formatted similar to STAAR. The same font, wording style, and type of graphics are used as much as possible to mirror the STAAR. Processing standards are embedded throughout.
READINESS STANDARDS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET:
√6.4(B) Apply qualitative and quantitative reasoning to solve prediction and comparison of real-world problems involving ratios and rates.
SUPPORTING STANDARDS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET:
√6.4(C) Give examples of ratios as multiplicative comparisons of two quantities describing the same attribute.
√6.4(D) Give examples of rates as the comparison by division of two quantities having different attributes, including rates as quotients.
√6.4(E) Represent ratios and percents with concrete models, fractions, and decimals.
√6.5(A) Represent mathematical and real-world problems involving ratios and rates using scale factor, tables, graphs, and proportions.
RELATED COMMON CORE STANDARDS:
The Common Core Standards listed below align with the Texas TEKS included in this packet.
√6.RP.A.1 - Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities.
√6.RP.A.2 - Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship.
√6.RP.A.3 - Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.
√6.RP.A.3.B - Solve unit rate problems including those involving unit pricing and constant speed.
