Looking for problem solving Ratio and Rate Task Cards? These task cards are closely aligned to the TEKS and STAAR Assessment and work great as review, practice, with small groups, and as test-prep!
Don’ t use TEKS Standards? These items are CCSS aligned as well!
Task cards are grouped into 2 sections: cards (1-10) and (11-20). Each set addresses the same standards so they can be used as 2 separate activities, (1-10) as a review and (11-20) as a practice or assessment. You may also choose to use all 20 cards as one activity giving students more opportunity to demonstrate understanding of skills.
Simply print the cards in color and cut out. You may wish to laminate for extra durability. *It is important to print in color as two items pertain to the color of objects in the question.
♥20 open-ended task cards that address Ratio, Rates, and Proportional Reasoning TEKS (6.4ABCD) and Common Core Standards (6.RP.A.1, 6.RP.A.2, 6.RP.A.3, 6.RP.A.3.A, 6.RP.A.3.B, 6.RP.A.3.C, 6.RP.A.3.D).
♥ A list of Readiness, Supporting, Processing and Common Core Standards.
♥ A Task Card Answer Key Blueprint which codes items by Readiness, Supporting, and Common Core Standards. This makes it simple to identify skills needing intervention.
Great for RTI!

√6.4(B) Apply qualitative and quantitative reasoning to solve prediction and comparison of real-world problems involving ratios and rates.
√6.4(C) Give examples of ratios as multiplicative comparisons of two quantities describing the same attribute.
√6.4(D) Give examples of rates as the comparison by division of two quantities having different attributes, including rates as quotients.
√6.4(E) Represent ratios and percent with concrete models, fractions, and decimals.
√6.5(A) Represent mathematical and and real-world problems involving ratios and rates using scale factor, tables, graphs, and proportions.
Common Core Standards:
√6.RP.A.1. Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities.
√6.RP.A.2. Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship.
√6.RP.A.3. Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.
√6.RP.A.3.A Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. Use tables to compare ratios.
√6.RP.A.3.B Solve unit rate problems including those involving unit pricing and constant speed.
√6.RP.A.3.C Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity); solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent.
√6.RP.A.3.D Use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units; manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying or dividing quantities.
