Description

This 6th grade math spiral review is great to use as warm ups to start your math class all year, use as homework, or both!

  • Help your 6th grade math students overcome the fear of unfamiliar math problems. AND learn new concepts little by little, so when they get to the ‘actual’ unit, they already understand the concepts.

These 6th grade spiral math review warm ups (or homework), with over 525 questions, provide an easy way to help your students continually review concepts while introducing new ones.

  • Students can keep the entire set (90 pages) in their binders so they can reference the tip boxes and sample problems throughout the year.

Check out the Preview above to see what's included!

Features of this easy-prep, time-saving 6th grade spiral review resource:

  • Student pages are set up in number-order from 1-180 (2 days on a page), rather than Monday – Friday (I often get off-track when pages are labeled Mon – Fri, because if there’s no school or math class was missed for some reason, then we aren’t always on the “right day.” With numbered days, we’re always on the right day!
  • Each day has 2 or 3 problems of varying difficulty; word problems are used frequently.
  • There are “tip” and “reminder” boxes, to help students who may not remember what they’ve learned, or to give a little background information for new topics.
  • Some 5th grade concepts have been added from time to time, based on what I’ve found to be gap areas or areas of need for 6th-graders over the years.

This spiral math review warm ups/homework resource also Includes:

1) Standards Index:

  • Includes a chart of the 6th grade Common Core Standards addressed in this resource.
  • Shows a list of the days each standard is covered.
  • Includes a list of additional concepts covered in the resource.

2) Answer Key: lengthy, because the key includes the problems as well as work for most problems, rather than just the answers.

3) PowerPoint for display, with one day per slide (not editable)

4) Links to each day in Google Slides (text on slides is not editable)

What teachers are saying about this resource:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I used these daily with distance learning. It was a great way to start math class. As we approaches the end of the year, the kids were especially excited to see how many math warm ups we did! Great spiral review."

⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"AMAZING resource! I loved how it can be set up as a bellringer and/or station. By the end of the year it became a station for me and a self-checking station too! Loved this resource and the different ways we have been able to use it in class. Quality work!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This is an excellent resource for quick, spiraling review during each class. I love the tip boxes that students can refer to if they're stuck."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I have been using this resource for several years, and it is such a wonderful time saver! I love that they are easily getting some spiraled review. Thank you!"

Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths by packing it with unit cubes of the appropriate unit fraction edge lengths, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths of the prism. Apply the formulas 𝘝 = 𝘭 𝘸 𝘩 and 𝘝 = 𝘣 𝘩 to find volumes of right rectangular prisms with fractional edge lengths in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
