Thank you for purchasing the “6th Grade Quick Assessments”! These quick assessments are aligned with all Number Systems Common Core state standards, however, they align well with other curriculums.
These quick assessments can be used in a variety of ways, but here are a few suggestions:
--Use as a review before end of year state testing.
--Use after each unit is taught as a formative assessment to ensure proficiency.
--Have students color the stars at the bottom of the page to show their level of understanding. This is a great way to gauge each students confidence on each skill. --I sometimes use this for a quick way to group students.
--Use to help determine student needs for future instruction.
--Use the first Quick Check as a quick assessment. Re-teach to those students who scored below proficiency and give students the second Quick Check to check for proficiency after re-teach.
--Use as station/center work during guided math.
--Keep track of scores for each standard in the NS strand.
--Complete an item analysis to determine weak areas for your students. This will also help you determine which problems you should go over as a whole class.
--Group your students per standard according to their proficiency level. This will help you to target students according to need and come up with a plan to support their needs.
