It’s getting to that time at the end of the year, where we have to spend countless hours reviewing for state standardized testing. In my first years of teaching, I found that students became exhausted with completing review worksheets for days on end. To spice things up- I have created review competition among classes called THE MATHLYMPICS! My students get so into it!! It’s a “must to” every year!! Hope you all and your students enjoy!!
⓵Each day of The MATHLYMPICS is a different event.
⓶ Each Class completes the day’s designated event’s problems on the corresponding handout. (Handouts attached in this packet – or you could use your own questions).
⓷ Teacher calculates each individual class’s average.
⓸ Class with the highest average gets the GOLD medal. Second highest gets the SILVER. Third Highest gets the BRONZE medal.
Class with the most GOLD medals win!!
(I typically have some sort of prize for them)
I like to make a bulletin board to keep record of class scores and medals & to keep the students updated of who is in the lead. TRUST ME – they’ll ask!! In this bundle I have included the necessary components to help you make your own Bulletin Board of Scores!!!
