This unit teaches 10 different sayings, phrases, and idioms to accompany the 6th grade ELA curriculum. Each page lists a saying/phrase, space for definitions, illustrations, and use in context. There is enough margin space on the left side of each page to allow for 3-hole punching. This product would fit nicely in a binder or a folder with prongs to use and refer back to all year long.
Within this product is also a crossword puzzle with answer key, a list of meanings, as well as a center activity. While these were made for 6th grade, they could be used in both 5th and 7th grade ELA.
The sayings, phrases, and idioms in this unit are:
Eat humble pie
A fool and his money are soon parted
A friend in need is a friend indeed
Give the devil his due
Good fences make good neighbors
He who hesitates is lost
He who laughs last laughs best
Hitch your wagon to a star
