If your district uses the 6th gr. BuckleDown to the CCSS books, this is a great activity. I put students into groups of 4-5. During class time, the groups work together to locate the answers and page numbers to the questions in this packet. I have them to write the page numbers where they found the answer for accountability. Some students like to just answer the questions without "hunting" for the answer. I normally assign 10-15 questions for the groups to complete with in 45 minutes of class time. Each student in the group chooses the questions to locate the answer and share with the other group members. The following day, I begin the discussion of the questions by reading the question, asking students for page numbers where they found the answer, and direct everyone to turn to that page in the BD books. If the answer is correct, I ask if anyone found a different page number and if so, we do the same by going to that page to see if the answer to the question is there as well. If the answer was incorrect, I break it down in a discussion to why the answer was incorrect. This usually takes 35-45 minutes; after which, I then assign the next set of 10-15 questions. For my answer key, it is listed in a separate listing.
