This is a very basic skills, 25 question multiple-choice test to see if students beginning the 6th or 7th grade know some crucial math facts from previous grades. Topics assessed include: basic multiplication and division facts, place value, rounding, converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers, finding least common multiples (LCM), finding greatest common factors (GCF), and reducing fractions. There is a vocabulary matching section and a small true and false section as well. The last question is an easy/funny question (unrelated to math) to see if students are paying attention and focusing throughout the entire assessment. If a student does not do well on the assessment, it is a red flag that some intense interventions will be needed to help the student catch up to grade level.
