I have enjoyed playing 7 Little Words on my own, but I wanted to use it in my classroom. Since vocabulary is such a huge part of Geometry, especially in high school, I decided to combine the two.
This activity requires scissors and glue or tape. The definitions, terms, vocabulary, postulates, theorems, properties, and rules of Geometry are all fair game. Also, any prerequisite terms from Algebra are possible choices. There are 7 words and 7 definitions or descriptions. The words have been broken apart into pieces. The pieces from all of the words are then scrambled and located at the bottom of the page. The student will cut the parts from the page and glue or tape them in the proper order next to the corresponding definition or description given at the top of the page. The number of letters necessary is also given as a clue to help the student make choices.
I use it to review the terms in a fun, hands-on activity. It is of course helpful if the words and concepts have already been introduced.
The content is from material in the first half of a high school Geometry course.
transversal, auxiliary, perpendicular, slope, exterior, consecutive, skew
