This offering is a seven puzzle set of puzzles on Mark Twain and two of his more popular books - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Included is a math essay puzzle giving critical dates and numbers about Clemens/Twain. The math is NOT hard. I'd like for it to be done mentally . . . and seventh graders should be able to handle it easily, the 12th graders should get some mental practice/review. There are two word searches (one for each novel), two vocabulary puzzles (one for each novel), and two crosswords (one for each novel). Older students should be able to do the crosswords, younger students might be best working as a class . . . or in groups. Remember! The point of a crossword is not to get each answer easily. You would learn nothing. I HAVE given enough easier clues such that when combined with the theme clues students should be just fine. Also I HAVE given explanations to some of the more "interesting" answers on my solution page.
