**** Some of these are challenging - especially the Mix it Up and the 500 point questions.****
This Jeopardy game is a skills practice for adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing fractions with a mix of negative and positive numbers. I found in my classroom that the students were struggling with applying the rules for negatives and positives when using fractions. We know they are they same rules, but my students seemed to struggle (probably because of the numerous steps). This just gives them some extra practice.
There is a good mix of easy to "I need to think about the steps" problems. The Mix It Up column has some evaluating expressions and order of operations.
As with all my Jeopardy games, a student worksheet is included. Each student works the problem and records their answer. It is also a great formative assessment. It is recommended to give the students a classwork grade for completing the Jeopardy Review – stress to them to be honest and not just write in the answers. Most students are honest when participating.
