This particular file contains all the necessary pages for leading a narrative writing unit in class. I like to use narrative writing as the first major writing piece because I find students tend to enjoy this type of writing much more than research.
We will explore “Memoir” writing with both teacher and student examples. I am grateful a former student has given me permission to use her work as the student example!
The table of contents provides both the CCSS standards and objectives (or I Can Statements). This particular file is the “completed” version because it contains all of the notes for each lesson. If you would like to use guided notes, please seek the separate file labeled “Memoir Guided Notes”. The editable rubric is available in a separate file as well—each teacher is different, I felt it was more important to share how I grade the memoir and allow you to make needed adjustments.
