A powerpoint file is included if you would like to edit your questions. I love to use these warm-ups in my Title I Math classes, because it is a great way to review math vocabulary, skills, and processes. I use it as a spiral review, reviewing various problems from prior lessons. I continue to review a specific goal daily until the students have mastered it. Along with each set of problems, you can have your students write the objective by explaining how they solved the problem using the "I can" space. This is a great reinforcement of Common Core State Standards! View the preview to see more specific teacher directions and example pages.

I print the blank sheets so they cannot work ahead. I simply write three problems on the board for the students to work out as they come into the classroom (or I put the three problems under the document camera). I allow the first three students who get the correct answer to walk around the room with a special pen and star other student's work if it is correct. After the students have had enough time, we go over the problems together. After each problem is solved, the students try to use their math vocabulary to describe the type of problem or process with the "I can" statement. Each day includes three problems, so we can review three topics each day. My students love to volunteer to come up to the board to teach the problem to the class and share their "I Can" statement for others to write on their warm-up page as well. I have used this template with both middle school and high school students.
