7th Grade Math Curriculum CCSS-Aligned

A perfect solution for the busy 7th grade math teacher or the school with limited resources! This curriculum is standards-based and designed specifically for the Common Core State Standards.

The curriculum is divided into 11 units with an additional unit to prepare for state testing.  Additionally, you will receive spiral warm-ups, “I Can” statements, back to school review activities, and year-end assessments.

Each Unit Includes:

1. Teacher planning resources:  Unit Overviews and Pacing Calendar

To ensure vertical alignment and create a cohesive content base, unit overviews provide you with a foundational understanding of where students are and where they need to go. Each unit overview offers teacher tips that address engagement ideas or student struggles to streamline your planning.

2. Classroom resources and activities: Guided Notes, Hands-On Activities, Independent Practice

The guided notes provide visuals and scaffold the concepts in such a way that students refer back to them -- a teacher’s dream! Real life application and problem solving strategies have been incorporated throughout the units to ensure that your students can apply the concepts.

July 2020 Digital Update: All files are available as a PDF, the unit test is editable in PPT, and the student handouts/homework/study guides have been converted to Google Slides™ for your convenience. The Google Slides™ do NOT have text boxes placed, but there is a video tutorial showing you how if you choose.

Each unit includes at least six hands-on activities to support cooperative learning, higher-level thinking skills, and student practice in a fun way! Teachers have commented that they love hearing their students using academic language and justifying their reasoning.

September 2020 Digital Update: 40 of the hands-on class activities have been converted to be paperless and digital through Google Slides™ and Google Forms. See more details of the curriculum update here.

3. Classroom Assessments:  Editable Unit Tests, Self-Grading Google Form Test

Each unit includes at least one quiz and an editable unit test. This allows you to customize the unit test to meet the needs of your students.

All of the unit tests are available as a Google Form.

Use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems. Examples: simple interest, tax, markups and markdowns, gratuities and commissions, fees, percent increase and decrease, percent error.
Explain what a point (𝘹, 𝘺) on the graph of a proportional relationship means in terms of the situation, with special attention to the points (0, 0) and (1, 𝘳) where 𝘳 is the unit rate.
Represent proportional relationships by equations. For example, if total cost 𝘵 is proportional to the number 𝘯 of items purchased at a constant price 𝘱, the relationship between the total cost and the number of items can be expressed as 𝘵 = 𝘱𝘯.
Identify the constant of proportionality (unit rate) in tables, graphs, equations, diagrams, and verbal descriptions of proportional relationships.
Decide whether two quantities are in a proportional relationship, e.g., by testing for equivalent ratios in a table or graphing on a coordinate plane and observing whether the graph is a straight line through the origin.
