Description
Two assessments are included in this resource. The pre-assessment contains 18 multiple choice and 6 short answer questions. Each question correlates to a seventh grade math Common Core State Standard. The assessment is a great way to determine what prior knowledge students already have as they enter seventh grade. In order to collect appropriate data to use as evidence of growth, the post-assessment, given at the end of the year, is nearly identical to the pre-assessment. Only some numbers and ordering of multiple choice answers have been altered.
For each assessment there is an Answer Sheet where students can organize their responses by bubbling for multiple choice and filling in for short answer. There is also a Results Tally Sheet for each test to be used by the teacher, which includes the question number, CCSS, correct answer, and space to tally how many students got the question incorrect. This Tally Sheet is an excellent tool for facilitating the collection and organization of measurable growth data.
For eighth grade teachers who wish to use this assessment to see what their students can recall from their seventh grade math class, there are additional pages included at the end of the product with appropriate headings for this purpose.
