This is a two-track scavenger hunt that allows you to differentiate to your different levels of learners. Track one contains expressions in which only one rule is used to simplify them. Track two contains expressions that require multiple rules to be applied.
Properties of Exponents: A Speed Dating Activity
In this fun activity, students sit across from one another and work together to simplify exponent expressions. Every couple minutes students slide to the next seat and solve a new problem with a new partner. Students love this one!

Exponential Expression Cooperative Sort
This team project gives students in depth practice with simplifying exponent expressions. The expressions are leveled so students receive problems at their working level. Students use roles to create three posters of equivalent expressions.
