Objective: Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations and write, with great detail, the steps that were taken to solve the problem, including reasoning behind those steps. (CCSS 8.EE.C.8)
Directions: Students love to text! What better way to get their attention by creating the math to fit their interests? Each prompt is written in the form of a conversation, which causes students to think a little harder about what the question is asking. Students are required to show their work and explain the steps they took. I also make my students explain their reasoning behind taking those steps to solve the problem.
