This is a 6-page worksheet that is all about rotation. The use of this worksheet assumes that the teacher have already discussed the basics of rotation through graphing and that the students can graph a rotation using manipulative. With this prerequisite, before the use of this worksheet, the students should have already discovered the pattern of coordinates when rotating a figure by 90, 180 and 270 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise about the origin.
Note that the use of pattern is not to replace the conceptual understanding of rotation but to enhance the students skills on rotation using coordinates.
This also includes graphing, but again, the students should be using the pattern of coordinates in rotation.
Below are the objectives covered per page:
Page 1 and 2: Students will find the coordinates of a point after a rotation.
Page 3: Students will find the coordinates of the image given the coordinates of the pre-image and the rotation.
Page 4: Students will describe the rotation and the find the coordinates of the missing point.
Page 5-6: Students will graph an image given the graph of the image and the description of the rotation.
