Students will enjoy competing with one another as they practice identifying rational and irrational numbers and converting between decimals and fractions. Each game can be played with 2-3 students
Three game sheets are included with increasing difficulty as follows:
•Sheet #1: Identifying rational and irrational numbers
•Sheet #2: Converting between fractions and decimals between 0-1
•Sheet #3: Converting between all fractions and decimals
In the first sheet, students take turns rolling a dice. If they get an even number, they color in a rational number. If they get an odd number, they color in an irrational number.
In the second and third sheets, if they get an even number, they color in a terminating decimal AND its equivalent fraction. If they get an odd number, they color in a repeating decimal AND its equivalent fraction.
In 2 player games, the first player to get two sets of 5 in a row wins! In 3 player games, the first player to get just one 5 in a row wins.
You can differentiate by pairing students up by their ability levels. Students who need practice with rational and irrational numbers can start with sheet #1 and students who are ready to advance can start with sheets #2 or #3.
