Speed Solving Activity
Cut out all the cards to pass out to students (I laminate mine so they last longer)
Give each student an answer sheet to put their work and final answers on. They can also turn this in for a grade.
Pair students together in groups of two facing each other (Partner A and B).They will start out with the same card and solve it. Once the partners have solved the card they are to raise their hand and you will check their work. This round takes the longest because you must check every groups work to make sure they have the right answer. Every single student is now an “expert” on their card. Once everyone is finished tell the class that all Partner A’s stay in their seat and Partner B’s move to the next partner. THEY TAKE THEIR EXPERT CARD WITH THEM THE ENTIRE TIME! I usually set a timer, which will depend on how long your class needs. This is a great activity that allows students to work with multiple partners in a very short amount of time.
