This PowerPoint includes 36 Daily Journal Prompts to use in your classroom. Some prompts ask students to write about themselves and their thoughts and opinions. Others require students to use their imaginations and think critically, such as writing the directions for making a sandwich. They are great to use as a bell ringer activity, or to make sure your students are writing everyday. I display the prompt on the board as students are coming into class. They add the response to their journal. I require students to restate the prompt in their response and to support their answer with at least three details.
NOTE: There are many prompts in this set based on The Giver because I read that with 8th grade. These prompts ask them to put themselves in the community of The Giver and describe how it would make them feel.
Thank you for supporting Technoteach.
