Student and teacher data trackers for 8th grade Common Core math. This file includes a spreadsheet for the teacher to keep track of student performance, one for students to keep track of their individual performance, and a CCSS check sheet for you to keep track of what resources are aligned with each standard and check when you have covered them.
Have students rate and date in their tracker when you begin a unit. You can do this by having them pretest or self assess. 4=no mistakes ever, 3=some mistakes but rare, 2=knows how to start but can't consistently get correct answers, 1=doesn't know where to start.
Have students update their trackers each time they quiz or test. Use the far right columns to create horizontal bar graphs to show growth. I have students rate, date, and graph in a new color each time.
In the teacher file, keep track of each student's performance for each standard. This will be beneficial for keeping individual student data and looking at individual strands to see where you need more work.
Each CCSS has been broken down into I Can statements including an intro unit covering rational numbers, integers, and PEMDASH. There are a total of 176 I Can statements for 8th grade.
Sequencing is as follows:
Unit 1: Rational numbers, PEMDASH, One Step Equations
Unit 2: Real number system, Pythagorean Theorem
Unit 3: Exponents and Scientific Notation
Unit 4: Equations in one and two variables
Unit 5: Systems of equations
Unit 6: Scatter Plots and Two-way Tables
Unit 7: Functions
Unit 8: Transformations, angles, triangles
Unit 9: Volume
