Prepare your students for the 8th Grade Social Studies STAAR test with this Power Point, the thirteenth in a multiple Power Point series, called the "7 Minute Mastery Series." It doesn't contain ALL the information you'd normally cover in a unit but rather addresses very specifically the key topics, people and places that have repeatedly shown up on the previous STAAR tests. After the instructional slides there are ten slides containing five previous STAAR test questions, first with the question, then the next slide with the answer and so on. Depending on your class length and depth of discussion, you could cover one to three of these Power Points in this "7 Minute Mastery Series." This Power Point contains topics such as: Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, Constitutional Convention, Federalists, Anti-Federalists, Constitution, Bill of Rights, Great Compromise, 3/5ths Compromise, House and Senate, Jefferson and Hamilton, Washington's Farewell Address, Judicial Branch, Marbury v Madison, John Marshall, Scott v Sandford, Dred Scott, Worcester v Georgia, Citizenship, Civic duties and Civic Responsibilities. This is number thirteen in the series I've created called 7 Minute Mastery Series, but to truly cover it in 7 Minutes you'd have to be flying, and when you include teacher elaboration, student questions/discussion/interjection and then, finally review of the five practice questions, this Power Point could easily take an entire class (for better or worse... depending on how much time you've allotted for STAAR review).
