This activity is a 5-Act, 25-role reader's theater script for September 11th, 2001. Reader's Theater is an engaging instructional strategy for middle grade students that allows them to act out various historical scenes. This resource teaches students about 9/11 from a historical perspective in an in-depth, engaging way.
The acts are as follows:
Act I: Hearing the News
Act II: The President Regroups
Act III: The First Responders
Act IV: Ten Years Later...
Act V: A Confused Class
Each act includes discussion questions. There is a quiz for students at the conclusion of the play, as well as an extension activity in which students will create their own script for the construction of One World Trade Center!
