Activity Description:

Cut out the cards with the individual pictures.Students play in groups of 3 or 4. Choose a student to shuffle the cards and deal out 5 to each player. He then places the remaining cards in the middle of the group (el estanque-the pond). The cards should be spread out, face-down.

The object of the game is to have the most pairs of cards.
Before the game begins, players can put down any pairs they have in their hands. The teacher can choose which student begins.

Player 1 asks any player if he has one of the pictures in his hand. If the player has it he must give it the player who requested it, and the asking player places the pair down and asks again (any player).
If the player asked does not have the card requested, he says “Ve a pescar” and the asking player must pick up a card from the “estanque.”

If he picks up a card that is a match he can put the pair down, but play continues with the next player and he does not get to ask again.The player with the most pairs when all the cards have been put down is the winner.

There is a phrase reference sheet for players as well as vocabulary lists with pictures that correspond to the pictures on the cards.
