Check out the sample freebie for this unit to get a sneak peek of one of the included activities: America Mini-Book Freebie
This unit is based on the book The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Mordicai Gerstein - the true story of a man who walked on a cable between the twin towers. Last year, I used this book on September 11 as a positive memorial, in honor of the many men and women who lost their lives that morning. Now, this kid-friendly patriotic unit (free of sensitive material!) will be available for you and your students! This unit can be used for any patriotic holiday or theme in your classroom. Everything is based on the mentor text. It is not teaching about the actual events of 9/11.
***In order to be kid-sensitive, NO INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENTS OF 9/11 ARE INCLUDED. THE UNIT IS ALL BASED ON THE MENTOR TEXT ONLY.***
