Do you like to go back to the 1950’s for the 50th Day of School? This is a simple activity I have my students do that they really enjoy. I have black strips of butcher paper, and I let my students choose whether to make a poodle hat or a car hat. Typically the girls choose the poodles and the boys choose the cars, but it doesn’t matter….whichever they choose is fine. I just make sure to have a few extra copies of each.
They color the poodles or cars, bubble cut around the poodles or cars, and then line them up in number order from 10-50 on the black strip of butcher paper.
I have shared this with my Kindergarten Team, and one of my friends makes the “hat” into a “belt” instead.
