A fun monster-themed pack that was created for PreK, K, and First grades! Included are 7 activities for letters and numbers:
Monster Alphabet Match: Laminate for durability; students match the upper to lower case
letters. A variation would be for students to spell out their name and common sight words
Monster BUMP: Laminate the board or place in a page protector for durability. You will need two players with different colored markers/tokens. Students roll the dice and place their marker/token on the same numbered monster. If another player rolls the same number, he/she can “bump” the other player off that monster and place their token. If the same player rolls the same number twice, then with two of the same colored token on one monster, it is “locked” and cannot be “bumped” by the other player!
Monster Match: Laminate cards for durability. Students will match numbers to tally marks.
Monster Count the Room: Laminate cards for durability. This can be done as a whole group activity (displaying cards around the room), or as a small center. Students count the number
of monsters on each card and either color up to or write up to the number on the graph (two graphs are included for differentiation).
Monster I Spy: laminate or place the “I Spy” sheet in a page protector. There are several options for this activity: students can independently count, color, and graph the monsters on the I Spy page. Different graphs are included for differentiation and levels.
Draw Me a Monster: Copy for students. A fun independent activity where students draw a monster including the parts mentioned on the paper.
Monster Puzzles: laminate for durability. Cut apart on the lines and place in gallon bags. Students assemble the puzzles by putting the numbers or letters in order.
