I made 18 sentence puzzles that have a school theme. Each sentence can be cut up into 6 pieces.
Preparation: Print, cut and laminate the small cards and the longer sentence cards.
Whole Group….Pass out small cards to students. Read a sentence from one of the long sentence cards. Have students bring up the words from the sentence and create the sentence on a sentence pocket chart. You can also laminate the cards and attach magnets to the back so that you can put the cards on your white board to create the sentences.
Small Group….Select some of the sentences (use the same number of sentences as students in your small group). Pass out the small sentence cards to students. Place the sentence pieces upside down (like you would have for a matching game). Each student will take turns looking for cards that that belong with his/her sentence card.
