A Bade Case of Stripes is a perfect book to read to discuss how it makes someone feel when you tease them, and how to accept differences in others. This product includes four pages:
Page 1: Authors Purpose- After reading talk about why the author wrote this story. What message was he trying to get across? Have children write about what they think the authors purpose was.
Page 2: Camilla's Character Traits Graphic Organizer- Talk about how Camilla looks on the outside and how that compares to how she looks/feels on the inside.
Page 3: Writing Prompt- Why didn't Camilla want to tell others that she liked lima beans? Tell about a time you felt the way Camilla did.
Page 4: Respecting Differences Activity: Have students decorate a picture of themselves with their own "A Bad Case of______". At the bottom they fill in the sentence "Camilla loves______, but I love________!" Glue these onto construction paper and hang them around your classroom!
