This is a Smartboard lesson that teaches students how to do long division in a less traditional way. I developed this method by combining parts of the forgiving method with parts of the tradition method. This has been a very effective way for kids to begin to understand how to do long division. The numbers on the right of the problem will work out to be the quotient in expended form. This makes the process much shorter and less chance for adding errors to occur. The preview file has thumbnail shots of most of the pages in this lesson. I then follow his with a lesson teaching long division using the traditional method. I have that lesson available on here as well.
