My students with language delays often describe their feelings using vague or general vocabulary. I created this product to provide a visual for students in middle or high school that are working on improving their emotion vocabulary. Use this free product as a bulletin board display, teaching tools or as an activity in a social skills group.
Here's how I use it:
At the start of a social skills group, I ask students how they are feeling. If a student uses "happy, sad, mad, good, bad," I point to the corresponding poster and have them try to pick a word from the poster that more closely reflects their emotion! This also provides a great opportunity to use dictionaries or other reference tools if they are unsure of the definitions of the alternative words!
Go paperless by displaying this product on your Ipad, laptop or smart board!
