A Better You through Fitness and Exercise introduces the elements of fitness: cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
The unit explores the importance of exercise, its benefits, how to plan a fitness program, avoid misconceptions, and create routines for overall fitness.
Students will develop routines targeting relevant exercises for specific muscle groups. Group assignments, projects, and activities will help students in understanding and demonstrating the variety of benefits in physical activities.
