I created this poem for my own students’ birthdays. I wanted something easy, inexpensive, and fun to give them…so I came up with this poem to go with using centripetal force with a balloon and a coin. I plan on using a penny, but I gave you the option of printing the poem with the word “coin” in it.
Materials Needed: Poem, Balloon, and Coin
I plan on handing a blown up balloon with a penny inside of it to my students…my local Dollar Store has balloons with “Happy Birthday” written on them. Students can make the penny spin inside of the balloon by taking the balloon and moving it back and forth (using a quick push and pull force)….the penny will start spinning from the force the students place on the balloon.
This is a single page download with lots of options to it....color or black and white, birthday wording, special day wording, penny wording, or coin wording.
