A Bushel of Common Core Alphabet Mini Books:
Here are a set of Mini Books and Teacher Posters I have created to be be introduced in any sequence, depending on the reading program you are using.
I have included the following printables in this packet:
1. A set of 26 Teacher Posters for modeling and guided practice
2. A set of 26 student mini books that can be printed for home and
3. Letter Expert Awards for students once the letters have been
This packet is an easy way to introduce or review all the upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet and how they are formed. Each letter is modeled with the use of a teacher poster.
It is often a real challenge to carve out time for handwriting but I think this will be a simple solution that your students will really look forward to. After careful guided instruction, students can do this little books during small group instruction. Hopefully, they can eventually move on to using them independently. I even use these as part of my homework routine and parents look forward to watching their children grow and improve.
Is this a packet you can use? I hope so. It has great flexibility and can easily become a favorite with your students during literacy station time. Once you have introduced each letter the teacher posters are fun for the kids to practice with using dry erase markers. I have used these in my kindergarten for years and they were a real favorite.
