There are 2 versions. One is where the student page is copied on cardstock (I use yellow or orange) with letter tiles below for students to cut out. The other version saves cardstock and is where you print only the letter tiles on cardstock and the student page can be copy paper. If you have classroom letter tiles, then the 2nd version would be good for you!
This is a whole group activity where I guide my students at the front on the overhead or at the document camera. I watch to make sure all students make the word, then I call them to write the word and we move on. This is one of the few weekly activities where EVERY student is successful.
This is a great weekly activity that catches the students that struggle with phonics and need the extra manipulation of the sounds.
I use the page with the line at the bottom. To differentiate- my low students circle one word spelled and write a sentence. My high level students choose 2 words to circle and write a sentence. Students love to read their sentences aloud and make them quite interesting and well thought out when they know they get to read them aloud. :)
