In this chant about consumers, your students will come to realize that not only are their parents consumers, but they are consumers as well. The chant describes goods and services that they and their family might use. Teachers lead the chant, reading the bold printed lines. Students answer, reading the "unbolded" lines. After students have learned the chant, assign various groups to read the different parts. It is a fun and engaging way to instruct your students about consumers, goods, and services. You could even have your students rewrite the chant, supplementing goods and services they use besides the ones listed. In this download, you will receive the lyrics to the chant. You can make individual copies for all your students and teach it whole group, or chart the chant to display at your carpet area and teach it from there. The individual copies are great for rereads with a partner during literacy centers. Have students illustrate the chant by Kris' Common Core Crutches. They are sure to have an uplifting experience learning these economic concepts.
