A Christmas Carol

This Christmas Carol unit will be a lot of fun for your students. I am excited to use this in my own classroom and I know you will be too.

This pack includes a 10 part play that includes puppets. The puppets or pictures are ready to be cut out and come in color and in black and white. Apply a ruler, stick or tongue depressor to the back of the characters and they will be all ready for your students to use. Print on white cardstock for durability.

Headbands with pictures of the characters are also included and may be used for a reader’s theater performance. The play was written easy enough for young readers to read and understand. The play can be used many different ways, keep this in a center, or use for guided reading instruction with an emphasis on fluency and expression. Children love to do plays and rereading the parts is great fluency and expression practice. Other activities included in this packet include: -Comprehension cards that work great for discussion or when using a turn and talk strategy in your classroom. -Sequencing the story where students cut sentences apart and put together in the right sequence. -Activity sheets where students will write the lesson learned in the story. -Story elements sheet where students answer, who, where, when, what, how and why. -A Comprehension cloze sentence for review. -Worksheet about what the spirits would be showing you, if they would visit -Who is Scrooge worksheet, looking at character traits of Scrooge at the beginning of the story and at the end.
